But Xplodey didn’t listen; he wanted to catch the best because he is the best! When he started to chase after the roadrunner, he realized the pesky bird was simply too fast for him. Xplodey traveled miles and miles down the road and eventually lost sight of the roadrunner, and his pack. He kept traveling north hoping he’d find his pack of friends, but there was no sight of them anywhere. Xplodey just kept exploring, trying to find the other coyotes. He realized the weather was starting to change the more he walked. It wasn’t nearly as warm where he was as it is in Arizona . Xplodey was lost! But all of his troubles were cured when he stumbled upon Triple Threat Sports in Battle Creek, Michigan.

He wandered inside only to find Kalamazoo Xplosion owners Mike Johnson and Mike Trumble discussing mascot ideas. They both turned simultaneously toward Xplodey and said, “That’s it! A coyote is perfect.” They offered him a job representing the Xplosion on and off the field. At first, Xplodey was nervous. But when they told him he would get to be part of the Dynamite Kids Club, he quickly agreed to the job because he loves children.

Xplodey was introduced to the public as the mascot of the Xplosion March 15th, 2007 and has been with them ever since. Xplodey expects to see the coyotes from his pack at a home game very soon.
